The LuSE All Share Index closed Monday at an all time high of 6,149.66 points, up 2.59% from last Fridays close of 5,994.50. More than 10 million shares were transacted in 6 trades resulting in a turnover of K57,527,077 - signaling some pretty big transactions; "big buyer(s)".
Zambia Breweries was the biggest gainer, closing the day up 16.2% to K5.75. Lafarge continued it's surge, closing up 3.9% to K27. The only other price movement was in Zambia sugar which closed down 0.15% to K6.85. Is there enough momentum and appetite for equities for the index to hit 7,000 this year? We have just over 7 months to find out!
Trying to decipher this puzzle that is Zambia by using a variety of publicly available data (structured and unstructured) in conjunction with my own skill/experience. * * *
